Due to the forum being down and basically me being lazy I thought I should get some photos up from this great event. I didn't attend the first two days but our club stand was packed all weekend culminating in a drive around the arena with some of the other Rovers in attendance.

As someone who has been attending the pageant for more years than I care to remember, including having a stall in the autojumble with my father for half a dozen of those years, it does strike me that the show is a pale shadow of it's former self in all respects.
Many causes I expect, but I think the rot set in with a run of bad weather a few years back, the loss of the beer tent, marquee & the evening entertainment for the jumblers/entrants (there were some absolutely cracking Sunday night shows in there), plus ebay...etc doing damage to the entire autojumble trade. Not to mention the lack of exemption from the LEZ for the traction engines & trucks (come on Boris, it's only a mile inside the M25  ).
However, at least it's still actually going & you can still have an enjoyable (half?) day over there. Though I prefer having a vehicle pass to get in which I didn't this year as I don't have any Rovers on the road, so entrance fee x3.....ouch!

Nice pics Mike :D

TRM I agree to a degree re the Pageant, I also have been attending most years subject to weather but think it has started to pick up again not sure if it will be as big as once was but enjoyable all the same..

No, it'll never be as big as it was due to the reasons I mentioned, especially the autojumble. You can't un-invent the internet & we all make use of it to obtain most of our spares now.
