hi all this afternoon i decided to get stuck in and finally do the side plate that i have been wanting to change since i purchased a new plate last june.
Everything undone nice and was most suprised when i took off the plate to find only a bit of that nasty orange sludge stuff :D
So out came the hose pipe and i scraped and jetted out till the water was clear i then put the hose in the top of the rad on the jet setting and flushed it out till clear.
So next step is to clean off the side of the block and repaint it. Once done i will upload a few pics for you to see.

That's o/s (driver's side) the o/s one is an awkward bugger, lots of fiddly bolts behind the auxilliary drive housing and an engine mount which is always a pig to get back in even when you support the engine, also there is a large plug in the o/s one which I found a replacement for much cheaper than I've found anywhere else at just over £1.

almost done now :D i decide to sort out a little surface rust out on the chassis rail top while the engine mount was out so thats a result. Block was cleaned up and painted stripped the dizzy and found that the vacumm unit isnt working so will give the doctor a ring monday and get a new one and one of his red rotor arms and a cap to match :) might even upload some pictures tomo.
