Hello Peter,
as long as you are not worried by "originality" it sounds like a very sensible swap to carry out.
I would imagine it to be a straightforward job as long as you have/hire an engine hoist and have a friend to help you. Good luck.
Regards, John.

Hi peter I have done this swap a few times in the late eighties, just remember as well as the exhaust, the throttle linkage near the bulkhead and choke cable are different.I never had any problems, good idea to reverse flush the radiator while you have it out too.good luck gary.

If you're swapping in a block and gearbox that are already connected, seperate them first and check all the clutch components are OK. Also probably worth removing the side plates and hosing out any sludge around the cylinders.

Those are 2 of the things I wish I'd done anyway...

I also found sourcing the different throttle linkage quite an ordeal when I went from SC to TC. I would offer you my old one, but I'd quite like to go back to SC one day.

hi guys,

cheers for your comments i actually have a complete tc that im taking the engine out of, and im getting my sc on friday could i take the linkage out of the tc ? and transfer it to the sc or is there more to it ?

peter ???

If you've got both cars you'll be fine. The TC setup requires the bracket and cable that are attached to the steering idler. The SC uses some horizontal rods that are attached directly to the carb. It's a 5 minute job to swap them over.

John
