Thank you stina :D
I thought it would be nice for us Almondites to have our own little pocket with in the forum.
so even the closset almond lovers can come out (happy days  ). Hopefully every one with an Almond (or other yellow shade of p6 are most welcome too ) can post and we might have an idea if we are the majority on here :?:
So come on Almonders get posting :D :D .........

The Almond itself is quite nice. It's the browns used for the vinyl, tyre cover and sill covers they use which makes it look horrible...

That's Mexico Brown isn't it?

Can anyone tell me whether Rover used mainly almond (and white) coloured cars in their brochures and advertising? I have a theory that the public gravitate towards colours that are shown on display more than others in the range, ie Ford used that metalic blue for the Focus brochure, adverts and early press cars and they were everywhere within a few years.

Thank you for your comment Thijs, you can have them with black vinyl etc or just Almond all over, I suppose it's all about personal taste and I'm sure we all understand that. I personally prefer huntsman and it goes well with other colours as well, whites, Cameron green, tobacco and Mexico , the earthy colours as I like to call them :D
So thanks again for your take on the Almond front I'll put you down as a for almond as opposed to against..

Hi Paul,
Mexico brown is to dark for sills there is about 3 shades of the huntsman think it was dependant on the body colour. I've noticed the white cars tend to have the lighter shade.

As for the broucher theory your quite right they will usually choose a launch colour for new cars and have several built ready for release on that day onto the road. It's easyer for the customer to see the colour on the car or in a picture of the car rather than looking at a small colour chip and imagine it on the car therefore they would go with the glossy broucher pic.

Mick I love and appreciate all p6's regardless of colour, every p6 has potential. I knew you would post sooner or later its ok you can join my club, after all I've been known to take in strays

Yes my plate looks good on yours but I have the real deal

I've said it before and I'll say it again..... I do like individuality... And I must say Mick you definately are an individual

I think we could end it here guys . I bought mine on condition of the base frame and body , i have bought it up to a mechanical standard i'm proud of and would put the whole car up against the best . If we were back in 1974 and i had the money to specify a new car it would be cameron green , black vinyl with webasto roof , rostyle wheels , no power steering . boot mount , pretty much perfect .
Can't understand where were going with this , not many of these beautiful old cars left , maybe we should just appreciate all of them . When i take mine out i feel so proud of it , the presence it has on the road , the feeling of power and lording it over the modern brigade . Being brave enough to live the dream and run a classic , we all know it's knot a cheep hobby and you have to have a love for it , so lets not devide ourselves into sub groups .
P.s
I was at a show last year and a guy with an Aussie accent said that's a lovely old car love , what is it ? Gusset yellow ? ? He was on a push bike
