Federal/NADA 3500S air canister question

Here's a question for anybody with a Federal/NADA 350S; At the back of the air filter canister there are two pipe stubs, one facing in each direction. One connects to the crankcase breather, the other connects to the vapour canisters. Which is which? Does the right/drivers side go to the crank breather? I ask because the pipes draw from different places in the air box. :?

As you're stood facing the engine, the left hand one goes to the crankcase breather & the right hand one goes to the charcoal canister that sits next to the coil.
