Final Drive aka Differential

Does anyone know if the differential for the 2200TC is suitable for the 3500? Ratios are same, casing appears to be same, is anything going to catch me out?
 
As far as I know the 2200 was bought up to V8 spec apart from the engine & 'box so you should be o.k. Someone else will probably confirm that though.
 
Are you sure the ratio is the same, the books I looked in made out the 2000 & 2200 had the same ratio, the V8 being able to handle a higher gear and still accelerate - I was thinking of shoving a v8 diff in my 2000 to drop the revs - its so slow anyway as its an auto I dont mind waiting another 2 minutes to get up to 70ish on the motorway!
 
I've been told they are different, the 3500 diff has a different of "spiders", whatever those may be (my knowlege only extends from the fan to the clutch...)
