front shocks - front shocks off ebay

has anybody bought new front shockers off ebay from that guy in london has anybody had any problems with the lower bolt on a 2000 the sleeve in the bushes just dont fit way to small so took the sleave out does fit but on the road it feels terable anybody else had this problem
 
I pointed this issue out to him after getting some front shocks, however he has not made it clear on new sales that you need to replace the bushes for ones that fit.

Put poly bushes on mine.
 
i bought new front shockers of him i hard no problems with them. if you knock metal sleave out of bushe . john
 
Maybe they are not actually P6 shocks but something which is a near match ? If we knew what , could we source them cheaper ourselves?

I too have spotted the shockers on ebay. After seeing the above posts, I think I will leave them alone,and source some from a P6 specialist.

If they are not for a P6, but just happen to fit if you change the bushes, I would question as to how safe they are. Different shockers for different cars have different compression and rebound rates, and this controls how fast the suspension reacts. Get this totally wrong, and the car will feel very strange! Shocks can also affect the braking performance as well.

ARE WE TALKING ABOUT THE GUY WITH A NAME MADE UP OF MODEL TYPES?? ie P5,P6, ETC?? £55 A SET!!!
AND AS BEAULIEA IS COMING UP!!! WHAT PART NUMBERS SHOULD I/WE BE LOOKING OUT FOR,GIRLING,ARMSTRONG, ETC WHEN HUNTING THE AUTOJUMBLES FOR FRONT AND REAR DAMPERS/SHOCKS?? WHAT IS A REASONABLE PRICE FOR THEM????
I HAVE BEEN GIVEN A BOX OF "ROVER P6?" BITS BY A WIDOW,SHE SAYS SHE DOESNT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT CAR BITS,SO DO WHAT YOU LIKE WITH THEM. IN IT ARE A PAIR OF, NOS, WHAT I THINK ARE P6 FRONT DAMPERS IN THE TATTY ARMSTRONG BOX.
THERE IS A FAINT NUMBER; 62?002? I THINK!!! IF ITS P6 WHATS THE NUMBER MEANT TO BE????
