Hi all,
I have got a problem with a fuel leak on my 1975 3500s, just wandered if anyone could advise me.
My car has the reserve tap under the bonnet which was also leaking but is now sorted, the problem is i have a constant drip from the main fuel pipe coming out of the bottom of the tank i have put the car up on stands to get a better look and it seems to be coming from the joint in the metal tube that is connected to the main plastic fuel line. From what i can see there looks to be two nuts on this pipe next to each other the lower of the two has a smaller pipe going in to it the return pipe i presume, am i right in thinking that this is a compression joint and the nuts tighten against each other ?.
Their is movement in the joint between the two nuts and the metal pipe coming down from the tank i am wandering and hoping, if it just needs tightening up a bit to stop the leak and how the heck to get two spanners in there to tighten them up seems a bit fiddly.
any comments much appreciated,
colin
