Fuel Plumbing hardware

Folks. I'm looking to replace some of the hardware that exists between the fuel tank and the carburetors in my 1970 Rover P6 3500S NADA and I'm having a challenge identifying and sourcing the parts.

These parts are pictured on page 62 of my Haynes manual in Figure 3.11.

There are two metal pipes that exit the tank and connect to the reserve fuel valve. One of these pipes, labelled "Fuel reserve tap", has a 1/4 inch nylon fuel line that Ts into it that is labelled "Fuel circulation pipe" in the manual. I plan to reuse this part. The other metal pipe, labelled "Main Fuel Pipe" in the manual, I need to replace. It appears that the end that attaches to the tank is 1/4 inch BSPP thread with 20 threads per inch. The other end, that attaches to the Reserve valve, appears to be 3/16th BSPP thread with 20 threads per inch, and the pipe itself, appears to be 1/4 steel pipe.

Then from the reserve valve, to the fuel pump the connections appear to be 3/16th BSPP thread with 20 threads per inch, although one end has a 90 degree fitting, and the pipe itself appears to be 3/8th inch nylon. Then from the fuel pump toward the carb, the connection appears to be 1/4 inch BSPP thread, and the pipe appears to be 3/8th nylon.

Can anyone confirm that my measurements are correct and or correct me where I'm wrong? And second can anyone provide a source for these parts?

Thanks

Hi Simon,

The threads within the mechanical fuel pump aren't BSP, rather they are NPSM, which although similar to BSP are not identical. Similarly, fittings for each are distinct and not normally interchangeable.

I cannot say if the other fittings that you mentioned are also based on the U.S standard or whether they are British standard threads.

Ron.
