Hello!
Is there someone that can tell me how to remove the heating system knobs of my series 2 2000TC, in order to replace with a new set?
I tried in several ways without keep off the whole leverage system,no way.
Before using explosives to keep them out, I'm hoping in the help of this forum

Hello Alberto,
It's been a long time since I last did this but I think a small (instrument) screwdriver pushed through the very small hole in the underside of the heater knob will allow it to slide towards you with no effort!
Regards, John.
p.s. I will have a look at my car tomorrow in daylight if nobody else confirms my memories.

Hi John.
Thanks indeed for your quick replay, I just did the same as you suggested, no way !!
So:
1-Something is blocked ( rusty or whatever )
2- This should be the obvious solution, but it is not the good one.
If you have time to have a look to your P6, please replay.
Regards
Alberto.

hi,
john you are thinking about the round knobs, the ones on the heater just either pull off or there is a little grub screw that needs undoing first then it will come off.

Ian,
thanks for the correction - It's been a while since I've had to do this!
Regards, John.
p.s. I wonder if the ones on Alberto's car have been glued on?

Hi John
You gave the right answer, glue everywhere inside the knobs.
This morning I tried to put some drops of solvent inside the knobs.
The job was sucessfull for the up-down air flow knob, no way for the cold-heat knob and the electric fan knob.
Moreover in the fan knob there is also a small screw that holds the knob to the leverage.
Last chance was to broke the old knobs and replace them with new one ( anyway original parts from an old stock ).
So, the replacement was done and the interior of "my pride and joy" looks a little better than yesterday.
Thanks indeed to everybody for the suggestions.
Regards
Alberto
