Hi all,
Quick introduction following buying my first classic Rover. Rich here from Kent, the proud owner of a 1970 P6 2000 SC Series 1 that as you can see has been fitted with a few Series 2 body parts over the years. My first classic car for around 12 years since owning a few Triumphs before the kids came along. Have always had an old Lambretta/Vespa or three in the garage but was persuaded by management that this is quite a selfish vehicle so one was offloaded to fund a much more family friendly classic car!
Never really considered a P6 and had spent a few weeks looking at Vitesse/Heralds/Wolseley 1500/Austin 1300/A40 etc etc. when a 2000 SC came up fairly locally a couple of months ago. How had I ignored these cars?!? For the same price as a basic 60s family saloon I'm getting "senior executive modern luxury"!!
A few little jobs need doing as with anything nearly 50 years old, but it's a really great car with a strong motor and a very solid base unit that was subject to some quality restoration in 2007/8. It came with lots of history and original paperwork that shows it was originally supplied in British spec to a Sergeant in the British Army of the Rhine serving in Germany. It was brought back to England two years later and sold to a gent who kept it for a long period and maintained detailed records of all work done over the years.
Looking forward to clocking up a few miles and maybe bumping into one or two of you out and about
