Hi Folks,
Just a quick first post to say hello, I've been around Rover/BL/Land Rover vehicles for a long time, but took the plunge on Tuesday there and purchased my first P6!
Picking her up tomorrow lunchtime, so very excited now and really hoping I've done the right thing. Ebay is a really dangerous thing, and this Rover just goes to prove it!! :D
Currently own a LR 101 Forward Control which very sadly must go, so I thought that another V8 powered beastie would fit the bill nicely.
I'll try and post some pics tomorrow!

Kind regards to all,
Stuart.

Hi welcome to the p6 . You will not regret buying one. Well i hope not ebay can be good or bad. But the cars are worth all the good and bad times. I hope yours is a good one and we all look forward to your pics. No dout someone on here may be able to give you some history on your p6.

Hi Stuart welcome to the forum and P6 ownership and the Scottish contingent! I'm not to far from you just over the bridge and a bit closer to the Highlands. Noticed your car for sale last week and it looks in pretty good shape :D
Like the sound of the 101 also so when you get round to the pics would be good to see it as well. Don't suppose your coming to Glamis this weekend? I should be there all day Sunday and my P6 will be on the Glenisla Classic Vehicle Club stand.
Hope you don't mind me posting a pic from the ebay advert I had stored on my computer cheers Tam.

Thanks Tam, glad you reminded me that the Glamis show is on this weekend, I'd completely forgotten about that! I'll see if I can persuade her indoors to come with me to the show on Sunday, be a good excuse to take the new P6 for a run.
The car looks good in the pic you posted, though is there some sort of thing going on about having an Almond coloured car on here? There seems to be a few odd posts about it?
Hopefully meet you at Glamis on Sunday,
Kind regards,
Stu.

Thats good to hear you could be going to Glamis I'm hoping its going to be descent weather! Just ask at the stand hopefully I'll be about and and the Kettle is usually hot
Nothing sinister going on with your car colour, just a fair bit of good natured banter and you'll soon get used to it :D

Hi Stuart , Welcome . You have , by purchasing that splendid looking Almond P6 , bought into one of the most exclusive and recognised clubs in the classic motoring movement , with all the benefits it brings . Attraction from the opposite sex ( whichever that may be !) , entry into some of the worlds highest level shows , and above all admiration from EVERY other P6 owner ! ( that'll do it   )
Well done , welcome :D

Hi Stu

Welcome to the forum and to P6 ownership. We have a healthy Scottish contingent and it's always good to add to it.

Dave

Well, I picked her up this afternoon, she didn't disappoint! Believed to have done 68000 miles from new, the condition of her suggests this is correct. Engine very quiet and smooth, no tappet or lifter noise. Some tiny blemishes on the bodywork, but nothing untoward on a 40 yo car. The steering and suspension feel rather tight, though the car has been sitting for several months, unused.
She came with a huge history file, with invoices dating back to the 70's, original sales brochure and options booklet.
I'll try and get some piccies up tomorrow, when I work out how to do this.
Kind regards,
Stu.

My apologies people, I've as yet not been able to post any pics due to laptop problems, something I intend to remedy buy purchasing a new laptop! The old one may well find out just how heavy a 101FC is.
Unfortunately I didn't make it to Glamis at the weekend (sorry Tam) as the P6 threw a strop and broke it's vacuum advance mechanism. Fortunately a pop rivet was all that was required to repair it, and the V8 is running beautifully now, if a touch rich. I will try and get some pics up over the next few days, I promise.
In the meantime, thanks to all for the warm welcome, this is a fantastic forum.
Kind regards, Stu.
