I just thought seenas I have been a member of the forum for the last 3 or 4 weeks I better say hi :)

So Hello :) :D

I have gone and got myself a rustish free series 1 3500 V8, the base is solid apart from 3 holes, and looks like a patchwork quilt because of all the different colours on the panels.
You can find my P6 if you do a search for rover p6 burnout. I would like to point out, I did not do the burnout! So I know that the engine works!!!

It is my first rebuild of a classic car, my husband has a MGB roaster which I have stood by and whatched him tinker with (I don't try and help with that, its safer if I just sit in it :p )

So far I have painted the base to make it weatherproof (well try to), apart from the bits that need welding.
Spent about £800 on replacement bits, like new seats (old ones were moldy!!), new carpet, doors, brackers, seals errr and lots of other things! I am just in the process of trying to get the front and rear windscreens back in...... never knew putting some glass in a hole could be so hard!

I doubt I will be that active on here posting wise, but I can see myself going over your techincal section! :)

Welcome NiGhTowl..good to see some feminine representation on the forum!

Lots of helpful people and helpful previous threads on here..post some pics up of your P6 when you get time.

Good luck with the screens! :)

Here Here Vaultsman, a Warm Welcome NiGhTowl. A great pleasure to welcome a fair sex owner of a P6 in need of help.
Lots of knowledge here freely given.

Hi, welcome. This is the place to be, if it was not for this forum and the people I've met throw it my car would be in the scrap yard! Nice to see another P6 being saved. :) She'll pay you back in no time, I still can't believe how relaxing a 35 year old car can be to drive.

Hehe, I bet.

I am sooooooo looking forward to getting her back on the road!
I had her running last night, and with a few tweaks and new filters she runs like a dream. I cannot believe after hearing the engine last night that she is 13yrs older than me!!!

...... I didn't skip around with joy, like an insane person last night ....... honest!

Hi NiGHYowl,

I can say with total confidence that you will have a great time in restoring your lovely Rover, although on a number of occassions at the time it won't seem that way...anything but in fact!

Your Rover is a lovely car to drive, smooth and sophisticated, elegant and agile, feisty and temperamental,....a remarkable piece of engineering, coming to life and transporting you back in time,....modern cars can't even come close!!

Ron.
