Heritage Certificates?

Hi

My 1967 Arden Green 2000TC has Sandalwood (I think) interior panels but Black Leather seats (and new grey carpets!). Does anyone know if a Heritage Certificate for a P6 tell you what colour the trim was originally (I know for MGs it does, but for Land Rovers it doesn't) as I would like to put it back how it was. The car has been through at least 2 changes of number plate (it previously had a personalised plate so must have had another originally) so finding previous owners might be difficult!

Thanks

Here is mine. :) As you can see she lived in Jersey till 78. Was owned by Barkleys Bank or by the Manager (how stereotypical is that), all the paper work is on bank headed paper to and from the bank addressed to themanager, but he just may have been buying it for him self using he's secatery to handle the transaction. Nice to have the orginal letter from the Rover dealer detailing the order and the extras fitted. 8)

My understanding is that the Rover records normally don't show the interior trim colour, so you're not likely to learn a lot from a Heritage certificate! But if there is any doubt as to what the original exterior colour was, that will be stated.

Start by finding out what trim colours went with your paint colour in that year. Rudiger's web site is a good start point. http://www.ruediger-wicke.de/P6 production colours.htm

Unfortunately 1967 is a bit of a muddled year. Rudiger quotes:

June 1966 - January 1967 arden green buckskin, buffalo, sandalwood

February 1967 - September 1967 arden green buckskin, buffalo, ebony, sandalwood

October 1967 - December 1967 arden green buckskin, ebony, sandalwood

Since you have sandalwood door etc trim, it's most likely that that is the original trim. Buffalo would look rather nice though!

The Heritage Cert won't show the interior colour, but I'd go with whatever colour the interior panels are - doors, gloveboxes etc.

As for the original owners - contact the DVLA and they'll give you the history of the car. It costs £5 and can take a month or so, but if they have it, they'll give it to you. I've done that with most of my cars, and it's interesting to see who has owned it, and even changes of number plates.

Hi
