Hi new boy here, looking to become a p6 owner very soon :D been with Fords a while now but my father always had Rovers starting with a 1970 p6 then a 76 , then onto sd1   cant wait to have a good look around your great site :D

Welcome to the forum Geoff!

And when you get your P6...be prepared for a long-lasting addiction! :)

If you post up your location, there will probably be a forum member close enough to give any potential purchase a once-over with you if you think that would help.

Cheers for now,

You could have had of the best P6's plus change for the cost of a mk 2 Jag !

Ah, but the P6 hasn't got THAT engine, or all the TV/film connotations of the Jaaaag... or all that beautifully polished wood and the toggle switches...

I'm in the wrong club here to write about the plus points of Mk 2 Jags .

I could like a nice one with CWW though .The cost of a new Mondeo would cover a 3.4 and it wouldn't depreciate

What's CWW?

Also, I think there's at least one Jag owner on here, if not more, plus at least two Triumph owners... so clearly a liking for cars other than those built in Solihull is permissible on here! =)

And you mean a 3.4 is Mondeo money these days? They must be appreciating...

cheers lads :D very impressed with the jag, been doing a few jobs on it and needed a few parts, was pleasantly surprised to find EVERYTHING still available from jag dealers  very reasonable prices to considering 8) still have a soft spot for a nice tobacco leaf early p6 3500 though

Oh right! So they need winding up every so often? And how do you stop them when they're no longer needed?

Probaby the same way that you stop a wind-up watch by pulling the winder out.....

It's surprising they don't need winding up often to keep them going :)
