how good are you?

84% I think the one "Do you often feel like all the other drivers around you are going too slow" is the one that got me, but on the IOW the old grannies are always driving to slow.

Also I do sometimes pop over the speed limit. But never been done for speeding and never had an accident, may be just very lucky. :)

84%

But then I was driving back in the seventies when it was considered ok to drive after a couple of bevvies, so I answered yes to driving whilst drunk. I don't drink at all if I am going to drive now, not even a half of shandy.

Who doesn't :?: ,.. I got caught speeding by Mr Plod in 02 (45 in a 30),...he was hiding behind a large oak tree with a hand held, what annoyed me was the fact that the limit had been dropped from 50 to 30 the previous week without any warning,...when i pointed that out to him he said that "speed kills and you're nicked".

Same as that, but i discounted my first ten years of driving,i only have a bevvie on special occasions when i'm at home 'cos alchohol lowers the blood glucose and i'm an insulin dependant diabetic

I also have to admit to having driven over the limit in the past.
Weighing over 20st , I don't think 2 pints of average strength beer would put me over the limit but it's not worth the risk

My score was embarrassingly low though I passed. I was totally honest though & didn't discount my first 10 years of driving which is when the worst of my driving incidents occured. I have driven over the alcohol limit, many, many years ago. I did hit a pedestrian, many, many years ago (an old lady who wandered behind my Transit when I was reversing into a parking space, she suffered a cut leg & no police action was forthcoming. I delivered a pot-plant to her by means of an apology & she seemed very pleased) though not when I had been drinking I hasten to add. ;) I don't indicate all the time as I'm a night driver & often there's absolutely nobody to indicate for, in fact I indicate according to a situation rather than out of blind habit which I'm not a fan of behind the wheel. It can be argued that blind habit has no place at all when you're driving though thats not to say all habits are bad of course. Yes, I do go over the speed limit. When you're on a 3 or 4 lane road that is a motorway in all but name & is posted at 40mph & it's 3 oclock in the morning, I'd defy most people not to. Underposted speed-limits are a common phenomenom in these days of camera-funded revenue generation. I've had blameworthy accidents too but I've driven for a living since I was 17. They are very general questions & if you've been driving for any length of time & are honest it's easy to get a low score I think, especially if you were driving when you were a Teenager. These days driving a 44 ton tanker to Manchester & back overnight is a common journey for me & I've more miles under my driving belt than I care to remember but I never think I've learned it all & have a clean licence.
I haven't posted my score though.

I used to indicate out of habit but on a fleet driver awareness course I was told you only indicate if there is someone to see or need the signal you are giving

Hard to change your habits after nearly 40 years of driving

I personally think that you should signal even if there is no one to see you do so.

If, for instance, you are turning left into a side street, you signal, and the pedestrian sees you signal, then he won't step out into the road.

You may not see that pedestrian on a dark rainy night, but he/she will see you indicate.

I signal every time too, but this is because it annoys me so much people coming up to mini roundabouts and don't signal which means you have to stop then they turn left! So I signal just so I can get on my high horse about people who don't. ;) :)

I've had another go & guess what? I got 100% I still dont understand why my first score was so low it's not as if I'm a drunk, pedestrian bashing mobile phone user :?

I never said I agreed with it . I did find the training made me think and open my mind to new ideas

Well, maybe habitually signalling round town is a good habit, also to maintain a lofty equine stance. But signalling without taking stock of the situation at the time is really the point of the issue I suppose. Why do people overtake on an otherwise empty motorway then when they're 1/4 of a mile down the road, signal to come back in. Pointless! Though sometimes I get the impression that when I'm in a lorry they think I should flash them back in. Just so everyone knows, theres a pecking order out there & I don't flash anything under a 7.5 tonner in. If you don't know when it's safe to bring a car/Transit back into the inside lane then you shouldn't be driving the bl**dy thing.
