How much is it worth?

Something unforseen happenned towards the end of last week which I won't bore you with but it involves potential unemployment.
What would my 71 J reg 3500 auto be worth in a sale? Best described as running, taxed and mot'd seems solid but I'm no expert, doors need repairing and a respray.
This is by no means definate and i hope it doesn't happen
but I might need to react quickly if worst comes to the worst. (the v8 is my daily car.)

I can't sell that Dave! I have just had that resprayed with the P4 for our wedding next year. I have already sold my kawasaki. I hope it won't come to it. I really do.

Hi Phil.

Have my fingers X'ed for you, hope it doesnt come to losing your job.
Now out of all your fleet, which one dont you use??
or which one would you want to keep??
Do you have wife and kids to hump about or is it just you?
I see 2 x Rovers a Marina and a motorbike?
Are they all yours?
The most valuable is probably the P4 then the P6 then Marina, dont know about bikes!
Marina is probably the rarer of the lot,but dont really compare to the Rovers.
If I were in your shoes,I would sell the Marina for as much as poss, use the bike for economy, and the P6 occasionally, keeping the P4 in reserve.
Am sure you will do what is best for your situation, and as for values,I think the P6 would be about £750!
A few panels and a repaint will see the best part of £2k for a new owner,so you have to factor that into the selling price,as a buyer will always want to knock you down.

Good luck...
PS
I see the bike is already sold,i would still sell the marina for the best possible price as its looking its best, and keep the P4 for the wedding!

Hi Pilkie, The P6 is used daily and was bought to replace my other Marina which was written off. (Yes, I had two Marina's!) The Marina and the P6 are mine, the P4 is more my girlfriends.. I love the Marina, but it is FAR too good to use daily.. I don't like modern cars so if the P6 goes, would be replaced wth another Marina or Ital.. However,
the P6 does 17mpg around town and 27mpg on a run.. So am I going to gain much by flogging and replacing with a 1300 Marina? My Marina on a run does about 36mpg on a run.. But obviously doesn't cruise relaxed over 50mph..

Oh dear Phil. Fingers X'd. The MoT certificate on the Rover is worth £500, the scrap metal is £250. So £750 is a base starter. I'd have thought you might be in luck for a £1 to 1.2k? If the interior is nice, perhaps a tad more.

In terms of economy, all your cars are tax free. They'll be cheap to insure too. If you don't anticipate doing many miles, keep them. If you do expect to flog the motorways then something like a late Metro 1100 / Rover 100 is cheap to buy, cheap to run. Sorry about the driving experience.

Hi chris, the interior, minus carpets is lovely. I do do motorways, which the Marina isn't great at, the P4 and the P6 laugh at motorways. a nice Metro would be a great and serious consideration at the mo in a swap for the P6 if the worst comes to the worst. Plus I had a Metro as a second car so like reliving my youth! Lets hope things sort themselves out. I paid what amunts to a grand for it as a none runner.

I wouldn't count on it selling overnight, unless you're willing to take a big hit on price. They do sell, but it's worth holding out for the right buyer, rather than accepting the first offer.

Ebay Classified Adds (rather than auctions) are very popular these days, just like sticking it in Autotrader.
