...and i'm from Dagenham (well done if you guessed it by my username!!!).

I am not sure what else im meant to say here, so here goes again.

I am new. Hello.

Thanks.

Welcome aboard! Another Essex member!

Good on you for rescuing KGN...and, yes, you do end up loving these cars! :) I'd say your £150 was a safe investment for a P6 plus a shedload of spares, especially considering £440 on your 25's tracking!

What's the base unit like? Much tinworm? Stick some pics up when you can.

Cheers,

Hi there.

I have yet to have a proper decent look around as my mates been getting a pit dug in his garage and what with the car being as good as dead, and not kept at my address, but in a lock up, it doesn't make it the easiest of tasks! But, i'll be able to crack on soon and get those pics up.

I dont like the colour scheme to it, has to be said, its done in a sort of reverse Starsky & Hutch kinda thing, white body w/ red stripe. Not my cuppa tea.

Cheers!

That'll be the one!
The bloke was a real gent, but im going to have to do something about that paint job, haha.

There are engine issues with it, as yet im not sure what - but i'll get it sorted i'm sure.

Did you go to view it then??

I did yes, but the next day I had a call over an early Mini, which I bought instead. When I saw it, it was buried, so couldnt really look round it. Seemed solid enough and the price was definately right.

Thanks for buying the mini. I wound up getting KGN for £150 in the end. Superb!

You are not in trouble at that price. Apparently the reverse starsky and hutch was to stop it getting nicked!! That will look alright with a few coats of white celly. Have you thought about dropping a V8 in it? A range rover 3.9 with hotwire injection would really sort it out.

I haven't thought a great deal about it yet to be honest - im very new to this game, ie its my first classic - which is why i may call upon your help (if i am lucky lol) seeing as you live within spitting distance from me. It'd also be good to see your P6 for inspiration i reckon.

@southland kiwi & dagenham rover

Hey guys,

How are you getting on with your acquisitions? Mine's been eventful but overall a good experience. The club and people on this forum have been of great help pinpointing the niggles...

Rich.

Well....i had some cash set aside to start work on it this month, but then my Rover 25 needed £440 worth of crap done on it, so its still sat there waiting for work to commence, and looks like it may be that way a while yet. Still, no rush - the main thing is that i own it and can do it in my own time. But by hell i wanna drive it :x

@Dagenham rover - slowly slowly catchy monkey! You'll get there - i tried using mine properly before it's sorted and it didnt get me very far ;o)

Dont worry about that, mine wont get me anywhere before its sorted. Its just too heavy to push up that hill at the end of the road.
