Images of stripped p6b diff.

Does anyone have any pictures of a stripped p6 rearend? I'd really like to see the weak spots. Ta, Eric. :D

I assume you want to see the internals of the diff, and not the driveshafts and arms etc

I have all the internals in a box at home minus the case and also a stripped Jaguar differential mixed in with it. I can take photos and measurements of the p6 bits when I get home, and if anyone wants I can put 'comparison' photos of the p6 parts against the jag bits

Here's some I've already got. They're from a 2000 with 3.54 ratio, but I do have a spare 3500 diff unit which I could split open to see the 4 pin diff (I also want to see what it looks like  ).

There is the diff just after I unbolted the front extension tube:

Here's the difference in size between the rover crownwheel and jaguar crownwheel:

Those are all I have on this computer, but I'll try to get some photos of the extension shaft and coupling during the week. If you want any specific dimensions let me know, although I don't have the casing to hand as it got junked recently.

I believe the main weak points are the long extension shaft and coupling to the pinion shaft, and the output shaft/hub assemblies, although that is internet gained knowledge, and looking at the parts, I have no reason to doubt this.

Hey thanks Simon, pics were great help :D I've decided now to go ahead and replace my tired p6 diff. with a jag 2.88 p/lock item. If I try to run my S3 4.6 though it with any serious throttle  , I'm sure to break something. Now I have to be patient   and try and find one here in N.Z. There's not alot around. Hope I don't have to go o/seas :| Anyway, keep up your excellent project Simon, I know all of roverdom is watching you   Eric. :D :D
