INTERIOR SPEC - IS MY INTERIOR ORIGINAL ?

Hello all,
wonder if anyone could tell me if the interior in my 1975 white 3500s is correct, as i have a sneaky feeling its not quite original.
The seats are beige leather no headrests back or front and the carpet is also beige along with the door cards and front dash upholstry on first glance it all matches.
However pictures of other 3500s i have seen all seem to have headrests and longer arm rests on the front doors than mine as they are only short, could the interior have been swapped form an SC or a TC. I will be looking for new carpets soon once the floor has been welded and want to make it as original as poss.
While I am on i have noticed that the reserve button cable is not attached at the engine end will this make any diff to running & carbs etc or does it just mean i cant use the fuel reserve.

Any Comments much appreciated.

It will only mean you can't use the reserve. I think it would have had teardrop restraints & the long armrests. Not too hard to find. Cheap too, especially the restraints, unless you want to go for E.T's which is what most people want. I got a nice pair of armrests off ebay recently for £12 so don't go mad in your search. :;):

What are "ET" and "Teardrop" headrests? my 3500s has headrests. Viewed sideways they look like a computer monitor.
I had the vehicle for nearly a year until I found out that the fancy chrome button is not for decoration but permits you to move them fore and aft!!

Hi Classicus;

Your headrests are called 'ET's. simply because they look like E T in the film 'Extra Terrestrial' from the 1980's

Hi Colin;

It look's like your interior has been completely replaced with a 2000/2200?

Artic white combinations from September 1973 to September 1975 were, interior in Bronze, Ebony & Mango, in either leather or brushed nylon. Headrest were an option, but only with teardrop!

Check that your fuel reserve tap is not leaking!

Thanks for the help guys,
doubts confimed over my interior, i will leave it alone for the moment replace the carpets eventually to match existing seats as they are not in bad nick, maybe look for some headrests in the future. More pressing work to be getting its running like the proverbial bag of ####. Want Mot man to cast his eye over her asap so I can actually have the pleasure of driving it instead of spending my weekends with head under bonnet fixing previous owner Mr Botchits handywork, in fairness to the chap he did completely replace the interior.

Thanks again for the comments
