It started with a broken elbow

Hi all,

a few years back I was on ebay, looking for a replacement front valance for my red 3500Son a Thursday afternoon when I spotted an Almond 3500S for sale. I bid, not expecting to win and ended up as the highest bidder. It failed to meet reserve but I did a deal and collected it the following day. The following morning I took the car on a run to visit a fellow P6 owner. On my way home one of the De Dion elbows failed spectacularly. I called the AA, and as I was too far from the workshop, I had it recovered to my sister's recently purchased house. I got it into their machinery shed and stripped it down while waiting for the replacement elbow to arrive from Wins.
A local woman, who was renting stables at the time spotted it one day while passing, and told her father, who happened to own a Mexico brown 3500. He asked her to get my contact details from my sister, and called me to arrange to meet up. We became good friends, and of course I got to know his daughter. After some time we started seeing each other. At this point you're probably wondering where this story is going? Well, last weekend we took a trip to London, and I proposed. Thankfully she said yes :D .

Just wondering, has anyone else on here been fortunate enough to meet their other half as a result of a P6?

Regards,
Dave

Great story. Luck to ya both! My story is no way similar, but after 43 years of marriage I can still get Peg to wrench on my cars for those occasional times my hands are too large! :D

Thanks, and glad to hear it! :D

By the way, before anyone asks, I did finally find a front valance, in fact I got 3 of them, and 2 more P6s  . Hopefully I'll get around to fitting one of them before the wedding  .
