Local, yes, know the owner, yes, know the car and really wanted to buy it a while back but it's priced as if it's something much better than it is (IMO) yes. The fact Mike Brewer has driven it doesn't help it's value that much for me

I've had a poke about and made my offer :D

The owner told me it was driven :) and he has the tapes he said, this car use to park up down donkey lane in enfield when i was about 15 i remember it maybe i was younger

Thats where I remember the car from Donkey lane he used to work out of one of the garages down there. The last time I would have seen it would have been late 80's and it looked a stunner :!:

thats it i think he was a welder? And it was nice :) its still not a bad car at all, it needs inner and poss outer sills and a bit at the front foot well/under arch area and i think 4 wings and a bit of tlc. He said it has 3.9 heads with unleaded valve seats and i think he is a bit of a dreamer as he said it has around 300bhp :-/ its got a stainless system and a boot mounted spare and the bumpers are good and the best bit its tax free :)

The back was hit and has opened up some rot. Wing has gone forward and twisted the pillar round a bit. There's plenty to do on it. I could go on
As you say, it has monster power and can out drag a Veyron
I really wanted to save it as I've known it a long time, it's not gonna happen though, The asking price was £1500 when I made my offer

Here's another thread for you :)

When did you make the offer grim as I'm sure he offered it to Dave @£500

Grim I've not seen the car myself since the late 80's would you not say that it is salvageable or worth £500 :?: :?:

i didnt notice the rear was hit as the bumper was nice :) i didn't look too hard as it wasn't what i was looking for (condition wise) so it was a quick look

Anything is savable if you are keen. Although into cars as a hobby, I am also in the trade so when someone values a car at 5k upwards when done and it needs a dustpan and brush at present, I have to think how much it really needs and how many I already have in my personal queue
I restore cars for a living so as we all know you can spend a virtual 30k to get back 5k.
For £1500 it needs at least to have been on the road very recently or with a short ticket for me. Then it was marketed as worth a fortune if broken up, not what I like to do but even then someone has to spend their time to dismantle it and then advertise and time is money, so I worked out my price based on scrap value and time less parts to sell. Hope that makes some sense as I'm tired
The car was rear ended and there was a payout but the repair not done. Not sure if it's on the register :|
I told him I really wanted to save it but it was a massive job, he knows the score as he had his own garage years ago.

Hope someone takes it on but realises the task ahead :)
