Laying up

The only thing I have ever seen mine eat that didnt come from a tin or a bag of biscuits was Red Finch whole in one swallow  no chewing just swallowed like a snake, like yours he is a big fella about 8.5 to 9KG.

PS to be fair he does kill about 30% of what he catches

So...TP's original post has turned into a discussion about moggies (furred variety)?

What a wonderful thing this forum is! :)

In that case, heres one of ours. The pampered girlie :

In a slight development, my 13 year old son tells me he found a Hedgehog in the garage yesterday, wandering around looking for food, looks like it must have wandered in there the previous evening when I left the door open quite late.

No, Mo always kills them and usually eats them too. Mice, rats, birds, lizards and wetas generally

Hello KR,

If you don't mind me asking please,...what are wetas?... :?

Hello The Rovering Member,

What a lovely cat... :D

In Australia we don't have hedgehogs, but we do have echidnas.

They eat ants, so if TP was living in Australia and he had a problem with ants......

Ron.

Hi Ron, wetas are a native NZ insect. Creepy looking things with lots of barbs and big pincers. Garden variety ones are about 2" long and they tend to live in rotten wood which makes fetching wood for the fire quite a nerve wracking experience if you're a coward like me.

BTW, this is Mo. Relaxing.

just to keep this topic on the off topic edge ( sorry for my english)
such a lovely weird bunch of people.... :D

During my 20 years ownership, it happened to leave my P6 unused for long period
be careful about moths, they like carpet wool
I always kept and still have some naphthalene moth balls in footwell and under rear seats since I don't have domestic bat

I usually avoid leaving handbrake on, in order not to find rear brakes locked and if unable/too lazy to put car on stands, I pump tyres 2 times the normal pressure to avoid flat spots ( 3/4 weeks can be enough to get them)

Dont have a cat, but parents one years ago was a great ratter. The Spaniel is rubbish at anything without feathers unless someone shoots it first!

Anyway, I dont tax my 3500 auto over winter (few weeks too new for free tax, just use the 2000 all year) and have found the gear box seals dry and shrink over a couple of months so if use can start it and shuffle it about it might help. Also spiders in the dash cooked up nicely and smoked abit for the first few drives this year!

Finally, after years of damp car covers I got a Protech shelter a couple of winters ago, basically a heavy duty drive in tent for the car, and its brilliant, but this year need the bicycle repair kit as its sprung a couple of pinholes

I had a car parked at work for a while, and some creature ate the leather gearstick gator. At least it wasn't the wiring loom as Dave says.

I have a long running battle with mice in my garage, I'm currently bating the traps with Nuttella but the mice manage to just eat the Nuttella without tripping the traps !, I've also got one of those ultrasonic mouse repellers, but they seem to totally ignore it, in fact I think they come out at night and dance to it !

If you've tried evicting them and it hasn't worked, threaten them with rent. Or employ the services of a very large Cat? :D
