lifter preload anyone know

im going to ask a very condensed question.
hi i was wondering what is the setting for lifter preload, as i will be putting my new valve train together this weekend and i dont have a workshop manual as of yet to check. if anyone does know a quick reply would be helpfull,

Very condensed answer: If you're fitting standard parts then you don't need to worry about it. It's only if you skim the heads to lower them or fit non-standard camshafts that it can become a problem and need checking.
 
the problem is that it has a camshaft that i cant identify, its newish as in not worn. specs unknown and i am no camshaft guru
i just want to do the job correctly as i dont want to be pulling it apart again if you know what i mean, i have spent the time measuring every thing else, i may was well check this as well, also i have the shim kit for adjusting the heights of the rocker pedestals.
