Lucas LR8 spotlights

Not sure about selling my set or not yet.

The case is that the glass of one of my spotlights is cracked. Not broken but cracked.

I have been looking for a glass with no success. I think that it'd be better to change the spots for other make easy to find here, Cibié, Hella...

So if anyone is interested in a couple of LR8 spotlights, one of them mint condition and the other one fifty-fifty please let me know. Perhaps I decide myself to sell the pack.

But I repeat that I am not fully convinced.

Regards

I could be interested, but it would depend on the price. I presume they have covers? Are they chrome or black plastic backed?
Cheers

Yes, they have the covers.

This is the cracked one

The other one is mint.

Covers do not have the small white piece located above the lion. When I bought the car one of these small pieces was rotten (due to sunlight, I guess), so I decided to remove both.

View of the back, made in plastic.

As you can see I have them still fitted to the car, so in case we get a deal I'll have to remove them.

No need to say that they work perfectly.

Would 80 quid suit you for the set, postage included? Better in sterling, since I travel down to Gibraltar very often and I can make good use of the money down there. Furthermore this way you avoid to pay bank comissions.

If still interested please PM me and we'll follow up the final arrangement.

I'm just trying to say that 80 quid is way over the top. Not just the eBay listings that I put up (which were completed SOLD listings, not offers for sale), virtually every autojumble I go to in the UK has plenty of example of Lucas Square 8's for sale for less than half the price of yours, and in good order. Yours are broken and not Chrome. For 80 quid you should be selling very good chrome ones.

I wouldnt expect to pay any more that £20-£25 for a good black backed set with the later covers.
£80 is very good chrome backed with early covers money.
Often the price of p/p can put a buyer off as it overprices the item.
This type are abundant in england,so I suggest you aim them at classic owners over there who may be prepared to pay a premium as they may be scarce where you live.
However they could still buy cheaper in the UK and have them shipped out for way lass that you are asking.
I happen to have about 6 spare glasses for them, but as I have 2 cars with them on,I am not selling them.

Good luck though!

OK then. It seems that I was wrong with the price. Mines with plastic back are not as valuated as I thought.

So I get them out of sale. No need to sell them out and therefore I prefer to look for the beautiful, wonderful, gorgeous glass   I need rather than getting rid of them.

That means that if you find an LR8 glass over there please give me a touch. It would be far easier for you to find than for me.

All the best.
