Magnecor

I have done some work on the engine, just to clean it up and make it shine a bit :D but have found that the end of the Magnecor coil lead has corroded so badly, that it fell apart. Anyone know if you can you buy them separately as the only ones I find online are in complete sets?

Can't help Rich . But that motor looks great , i do like shiny . I saw your rocker covers in the flesh last year and was very tempted to do mine black . I might get another pair and change them as my mood changes :D

Do they have any kind of guarantee? I'd try asking Magnecore if they could recrimp a new terminal and boot on for you.

They have at least a ten year guarantee, but were they on there when you bought Sparky?
I think you need proof of purchase, they'll replace single leads according to their T&Cs.
I'm sure you can buy them singularly direct from magnecor too, around £8 each I think..

The leads were bought in Oct 2005 by the previous owner ( 8 years old ) and the dizzy was fitted (rebuilt unit) in Sept 2008 so only 5 years old.

I have emailed both Magnecor and Simon BBC but they obviously don't get them at the weekends.

The local car parts shop and halfords both stopped selling individual leads years ago.

So, we'll see what happens on Monday.

I found Magnecor to be amicable and helpful in lead replacement if you have proof of purchase. Mine were a gift but came with the receipt, single replacement lead supplied very quickly.

As Corazon says you can buy individual leads too. Let us know how you get on!

Sorted :)

SimonBBC wanted me to buy a complete set of leads, but to be honest, they were only £29.99 and included a distributor cap and rotor arm  I bought a cap and arm for £10.99.

Spoke to Phil at Magnecor and he is making me a new coil lead for £9.00 plus vat and a couple of quid postage.

So hopefully Sparky will be back on the road just in time for the snow :?

Oh well, give me time to replace the windscreen and get the wheels off.

Richard
