Manual and Automatic engine differences (2000 SC)

Hi all,

I have a 2.2 engine that I would like to put into my manual 2000 SC.
The issue is I am not sure if it is from and automatic car.
If it is originally from an auto, what problems am I likely to encounter?
I have heard cranks are different spigots are different etc.
Advise please.
Steve.

The spigot bush is different and needs changing, and the engine bearer plate (between the engine and gearbox) is different but if you're putting an automatic engine into a manual car then it doesn't need changing. The other way around it does.

Where did you get a 2.2 engine from? The only one I ever saw in Adelaide was in a wreckers yard in the North Eastern Suburbs. The 2200 was not sold in Australia.

Could have been a conversion. Turning a 2000 into a 2200 was all the rage in the 90s, I have two engines like that.

Yours
