i am just in process of chosing new rims for my 3500s i am sure minilights are the best option for my car in 15 inch does anyone know if i can get away with 15inch x 6 inch or should i stick with 15 x 5inch also what size should the tyres be i am upgrading from 14inch steels-it seems midland wheels are the best supplier -many thanks andy

You'll need to know what the offset and backspace is for each width of wheel. Then you can determine if either one or both will fit. If there is a problem, it will be at the rear, the fronts will fit just fine in terms of clearance.

If for argument sake you chose 15" X 6" and clearance was not an issue, then 205/65 will provide a rolling diameter very close to the original sizing. If you prefer, you can choose 205/60 which is a smaller diameter, but tyres in that size are far more readily available when compared to the 65 series. Certainly that is the case here in Australia.

I spoke to minilte about the wheels on Sparky (he came with 14" miniltes) and was told that they only made the 14" wheels for the P6 with a 30 offset. This pushes the wheels out 10mm and means that your widest tyres would be a 185, and you could even get that touching at the rear.

Have you checked the offset?

fetched wheels and its obvious even before fitting 195 65 15 tyres that they will foul wheel arch the offset throws them out at least 30 mm so not prepared to ruin car by cutting away metal --wheels were correct at 5 x 127 and car is so original will leave well alone -many thanks for response--andy
