Mistry Hole - Std or owner made?

Question: What is the hole below the two forward wing mounts for?

At the moment I'm thinking it is or us all to buy sill repair panels as the cavity behind the hole goes down to the sills.

To save a thousand words - here's a picture:

Either I weld a plate over the hole or find a grommet that fits.

Gavin.

P.s. I was going to say: I have a hole beneath my mounting studs. I got worried about the potential answers.

Hi Gavin,

Completely of topic with this question, what type of rear suspension is your P6 running? It looks looks nothing like the factory arrangement.

Ron.

That hole is standard. It's originally filled by a flat steel cover with a sprung clip, but you can use a rubber bung to do the job.

It's a factory hole that should have had a metal disc covering it. Not sure what it was for though, maybe rustproofing or an alignment thing. Either way, it was plugged when it left the factory so no reason why you shouldn't weld it up or grommet it.

As Ron has noted, I'm not overly bothered about originality if it can't be seen, so I'll throw some anti-rust stuff in and cover it up.

Ron, the car has Jag rear suspension, for the use of the Jag LSD; it helps in autotests. I couldn't help take the picture without it showing :D

It's one of the many drain holes to allow the primer to drain from the base unit after it was dipped in the primer bath.

Yours
Vern
