Models of the P6

Which are the best ones?
I was in a well-known model shop chain earlier, and they had a Vanguard model of a 3500S. To be kind, it *was* vaguely P6-shaped, but it certainly wasn't what I would call excellent.
When I compared it to the models of Minis, Escorts, Capris, and even Alfettas that they had, the P6 was very poor indeed.
Are there any really good ones out there?

TBH the Vanguards ones are about the best you can get (and they're not that bad) Especially if you want a series 2. There are some very nice railway scale ones available on Ebay but they are fairly pricey and quite small. The original Corgi ones are pretty good for what they are and cheap unless you want a rare variant like the white rally version or the purple series 2.
There were some very expensive white metal versions from Conquest, K&N and Gearbox models but these are rare and really crappy. (If you think the Vanguards are bad...)
Also some resin kits from Vulcan and MikeandSue in 1:43. If you're really lucky, you might find a 1:24 resin by Outhouse models but these are REALLY rare.
Your only other choices are old '60s versions, mostly Chinese and plastic in larger scales. They do turn up on Ebay from time to time but are quite sought after and expensive and almost all are early 2000s.

Cracking collection you have there Kiwi. That must've taken a while to build up?

Great attention to detail with those 2. I've done a couple of similar models for my dad. They're not Rovers though. One is a '67 Bedford CA Dormobile which I bought as minibus and converted the other is a '65 Cortina Mk1 estate. My dad still has that one in his garage (as in the real car) but sold the Bedford years ago.

I've got a diecast P6 (corgi I think) which it says is Tobacco Leaf on the box but looks more Mexico Brown to me and I was going to paint the roof and cills in Hunstman to match my own. Not sure I could manage the fine detail these days though, my eyesight is not quite what it used to be.
