Monday Morning blues and British Gas

This is really just to let British Gas know, that if you let just anybody drive your vans with no attention to finding out if they can drive or not, then they may drive into the back of a stationary vehicle and damage your van!!

I actually saw this Pratt/Twit (make of that what you will) drive into the back of a stationary vehicle and then career across the road and hit another one.

The really bad bit though, is that apart from the injuries to the poor old lady on the second vehicle he ran into (she's ok, just some superficial cuts and grazes), I saw this accident in my rear view mirror. AND, even worse, I had been playing with Sparky on Sunday and had managed to leave my Audi keys in my jacket in back seat. So, unable to drive the Audi, I took Sparky to work.

He stood in front of me shaking his head slowly at what he had done and said, "I know how you feel mate."

I replied, "No you don't, because you wouldn't be standing so close to me if you did, and don't call me 'mate'." (expletives removed)

So Sparky is injured and I am not too happy either.

Ouch!!! What are these people on ? Well done for not walloping him though. As bad as that is have you got away without too much damage ? Has it touched the door ? The boot ?

Bloody hell Richard really sorry to read this, it amazes me how some people ever managed to get a licence! I hope that the damage is relatively superficial and doesn't run deeper :(

So sorry to see this Richard! Especially after the enormous amount of work that you've put into Sparky, and the fantastic paintjob that you'd had done! You really must wonder how these people ever got their licenses! I had a very very close shave yesterday, on a single track bridge. I was crossing it at 15mph, as fast the conditions allowed, when I saw a 1 series coming the other way, which promptly locked up, and stopped about 2 inches off my bumper. Yet she was the one who gesticulated as if it were my fault!
I sincerely hope that it's nothing more than a wing and rear light, and that Sparky is sorted ASAP, to the same high standard as ever!

EFing hell what a**@!!*@@ not what you need at any time never mind a Monday, think I would have hit Mars if it were me, poor sparky hope you sort it soon Richard...

Richard, having seen Sparky close up, and knowing the work that you did to get there, I really feel for you, I'd have just sat on the Kerb and sobbed. (basically that reaction would prevent me from tearing the Gas man to pieces)

John.

Gutted for you Richard , looked so nice at Petworth . Hope it's no worse than it looks and you get it sorted quick . I do know that sinking feeling

 Aaaaaaarghh. nightmare Richard

Gutted for you after all the work you've put into Sparky. Was it just the wing that was caught or is the bumper bent too. Boot lid looks ok :?:

Dave

Ouch! What a Bummer! Can't believe how many P6's have been injured lately. Richard, you must be gutted.  I really hope the damage isn't too bad, and that you can get Sparky back to his gorgeous former self soon. Don't take anything less than perfection from the repairer though. Good Luck, and fingers crossed everything comes out ok.

Hope it's as superficial as it looks.

From the picture looks like it could have been a lot worse; rear door and boot lid look untouched. Hope you get it sorted soon. I saw your car at Capesthorne Hall this summer and it is stunning.

Pat

Just saw the post on facebook. Hope Sparky makes it through with nothing more than the back wing..

..and hope the Police through the bloody book at that driver!

Ouch. Gutted for you mate. I like to think I wouldn't have lamped him either, but I bet the temptation was hard to resist. Hope you get that sorted out to the high standard you've achieved with Sparky to date.

I feel absolutely gutted for you Richard  ,you have put so much hard work and effort intoo building sparky ,I really hope that it is just the rear wing and lamp unit damaged

as for the british gas bloke ,may his arse be infested with the fleas of a thousand camels

GUTTED!!
As a delivery driver,I hope that I drive in my job the same way as I drive my daily P6!!
That is,treating every other road user as a potential threat!
ps ive now wired up my fog lights to act as extra braking lights! :)
It never ceases to amaze me the crap standard of driving out there by the young and the olds, its as if they dont have any brain cells being used for driving.
Hope it turns out not as bad as it looks!!
I do know a man who has a mint rechromed bumper if you need one!

So sad to see a beautiful car damaged by such an idiot but this is our problem driving amongst the idiots who drive (or just aim) on the roads these days. Hope you get it sorted soon and back to top condition.

OMG - gut wrenching for you
Every classic car owners nightmare .
You will have a lot of support on this one .
