MOT / Tax cunundrum...!

Afternoon all

Wasn't really sure where I should put this but here goes - I have a bit of problem which I'm not sure how best to solve.... a week after my '72 3500 failed it's MOT the tax expired, and unable to get it fixed, re-tested and taxed again until the required parts have arrived (in the next day or two hopefully) I duly went to the post office and SORN'ed it. Now the thing is, once I've booked it in at my local garage to have the work done and have it re-tested, how do I stand legally regarding getting it round there? Obviously, I can't tax it until it has a new MOT certificate..... the garage is around half a mile from my house in a quiet residential area, am I allowed to drive it there or will I have to have it towed or trailored? I've never found myself in this 'hole' before, so any help is much appreciated!

Cheers in advance,

Nidge

I think you're allowed to drive and untaxed car to an MOT station if you have an appointment and insurance otherwise no one would ever ba able to fix their cars and get them tested.

I'm sure the MOT station will comfirm this for you though.

Hi, yes that's right. Provided it is insured and you have an appointment at MOT station
you are allowed to drive between MOT and place of repair. Colin

Many thanks for that gents!

I had an inkling it was ok to drive to an MOT station providing it's already booked in, but wasn't sure regarding the untaxed angle, cheers. My other half was convinced I'd have to trailor it!
