Hello Gareth,

Good on you!... :D

Owning a Rover is not like owning a modern Japanese car...there is always something to do, and there in lies some of the charm (annoying sometimes I must admit) of owning a real classic.

Ron.

ah! you 'da' man!
as they say .
i'm also glad to see you're keeping your p6 .
your lucky to be able to do the work, i wouldn't know where to start!
my only roadworthy car has had a mis-fire for 4 years!
tried changing lots of things but all failed!
i just take it easy and only overtake going downhills! (not too many cylinders work on uphill sections!)
its with an engine guru now (time will tell!)
i'll fix that and then something else will fail,
it gives me something to bore people with!
good man anyway!

yea thanks guys yea i just needed some space from it well i got it in my head that it will be done soon so it can come out from that tiny garage and have a little run but no doing 180 just yet lol got to wear the new engine in first all i got to do is think straight

A stripped engine is ideal for new cam shaft and rockers. worth considering if your in there anyway.

Can you get the rear crank seal machined for the neoprene type whilst your there? I did mine in-situ but wish I had the engine out to do it as it does weep oil. Worthwile doing the front seal. Ian at Rover classic does the upgrade which is a sqoosh to fit and very reasonable.

Well done that man!

Have a search on here for info on how toi set the carbs up. There are quite a few tricks to get a really good result! If you can't find it then PM me and I'll send you a link.
