My red "66" 2000SC

Hi

I've recently bought a 66 series 1 2000SC which is structurally strong and overall good for age. Interior is the usual worn leather and a previous owner has fitted grey carpets which I'm about to replace with the correct ones. Body wise, not much rust but the car had been used for a Swiss rally and the stickers had marked the paint on several panels, again a job for me over the coming weeks.

It's got a couple of mechanical issues which will be resolved but overal it's a good car ( I hope)

Does anybody here know the old girl ?

Shades of Rebekah...a deja vu moment here.

Great to see another Series I to be cherished. Registered 1st July 1966....a long shot, but is it Dunlop-braked by any chance?

(And yes, I thought you'd be in on this one, Dave! :D )

Thanks for the posts guys.

Well, I've stripped out the interior and wow, the inner sills and floors are superb ( and bone dry) so thats a first !!!

Not sure why the previous owner fitted grey carpets when the cabin is cream but I've bought a new set and will be fitting these in the coming weeks.

Bodywise the car is very good but the engine is a bit lumpy and noisey so thats going to need further investigation. Anyway, one job at a time as they say....lol
