Hi all.

Am planning some jobs on the V8 for the early new year, after i've got shot of the karmann ghia and put the PLK1E plate on it. :)
Going to repaint it,"spare full panel set ready and waiting".
When the old panels come off, sort any rust issues I find.
Refurbish the bronze seats, and renew the huntsman roof,1/4 panels and sunroof material.

I was thinking of getting my spare set of 14" rostyles restored, but at about £200 per corner + the spare, £1000!!! I think I will just make do with the ones ive got on already!!

I may even remove the engine/box and give the engine bay a good clean and repaint with stonechip and original satin black on the inner wing tops,""dont like the gloss black look"".

The main problem I am having is,,,I am still thinking about changing the colour???
Dont want Red,Brown,Lunar or Cameron, and definately not Avocado!
Ive come down to 3 choices that will all suit the bronze and huntsman trim very well.
1. Keep it as is,, white.
2. Do it in the quite rare early V8 April yellow.
3. Do it in the ultra rare Willow green.

Therefore I need your help??
I need to see some really good pics of cars in April yellow and Willow green, ive seen plenty in white! .
So post your piccys here,,the more the better!!

Also as a bit of fun vote for your favourite choice of the 3 in the above poll.

Cheers chaps and chapesses,,,

It's got to be white for me, timeless and I think I personally would regret going April Yellow or Willow Green. Plus, think about those shut lines! A colour swap is more than just the panels.

I like the yellow idea, but then I would. I feel my car would lose some exclusivity as a result :p My car was white originally though it has been yellow ever since it arrived here, I've decided when it eventually comes time to respray it, I'll probably do it yellow again as it's pretty distinctive and it has had a really good reaction from everyone who has seen it out and about. It's not April yellow, a bit stronger but it looks pretty decent really. Willow green is a colour i've only seen a couple of times but it looks rather classy in my opinion. I generally like cars to stay their original colour, but it's your car so go for what you like best.
Here are some photos of my car.

The shut lines are the same whatever colour its painted, and it was originally rusty mexico,I repanelled it with very a good white set.

I really like the white and Huntsman combo, I'd keep it on yours. I love the April Yellow on Frazzle's car, but you'd need to paint the roof for me, in fact I think it would look even better series 1 style with yellow 1/4 panels etc..

Roughly like this...

April yellow and Willow green are nice colours, but in my opinion suit series 1 cars.
If you decide to keep it white, i would suggest to depart from the slightly "cold" Davos white, and use Pendelican white instead. It is enough creamy to differ from the other whites, although nowhere near Old English White. In my opinion, it is just right and one of the best whites i have ever seen.
And it should go down well with huntsman.

Demetris

Keep it white Pilkie. I like the sound of the white that Demetris has described too.

I do like April Yellow but I don't think yellow and brown really go together although if you're refurbishing the sunroof anyway then changing the vinyl to black wouldn't be difficult.

At least april yellow is not an in your face yellow,,, its quite subtle!
Also willow is very a light shade compared to say Avocado!!
And if I change the roof to black then the interior wont match! :(
I do have a choice of whites to pick from,,, old english, davos, diamond, ice, pendelican,or in your face brilliant!!
Would probably opt for either old english or pendelican as they have a slightly creamy tint about them!
Any light colour is a bugger to keep clean, but at least white doesnt show blemishes as much as others do! :)

I'd say keep it white Pilkie...in whatever shade of it you fancy. And the Huntsman.

But there again....who am I to talk! :D

What about a dark blue like on a P5? That would work with your bronze interior although maybe not the roof.

Colour changes are a major head ache when trying to choose.

I don't think the april or willow would suit the interior you have. I does occur to me that you could have a nice Platinum

What ever colour you choose it will take a while to feel normal.

Good luck

alreet pilkie,i would leave it white if it was me,it looks well with the huntsman roof and quarters and and also the bronze interior,

OK 84% say leave it white,so after thinking about it for a while, ive decided,, white it will be.
I am going to probably have it done in the same white as it is now, which I believe is actually ford diamond white.
The current panels were painted in 1995 by a guy who was body shop manager for a Ford dealership, however this time it will be done in solid 2 pack.
Going to see the guy who painted my TR6,and do a deal.
As I have a spare panel set,,he can have the panels as he wants them and fit them in when he can.
Think I have tracked down a source of original huntsman roof material, enough to do the whole roof and sunroof refurb,so just waiting on a sample to arrive before I order 4m off the roll.
Also sending off a bronze leather sample from my seats to Woolies for their recolour kit.
