Hello, I have read just about all the posts on the V8, as a guest, which I have found most helpful. Have had a 1972 P6 gathering dust in my shed since 2003 and have finally got round to getting it back on the road. I did use it for some months back then and was amazed at the silky smooth ride versus late model Fords and Holdens. Came with a workshop manual so was able to sort out the lack of oil pressure, couldn,t believe you had to pack the oil pump with "vaseline" wife bought the last jar at the local chemist. Also have a 1961 series 2 Landrover-stock standard and still doing useful work.

Hi Samzak
Nice to have you on board .
Not much you can't do yourself on the P6 . The petrol heads on here only too keen to assist if things go pear shape .
What neck of the woods are you hiding out in ? There are a few Kiwi skulking about , so don't go talking too much how good the black caps are !!

Thanks for the welcome, I am halfway between ChCh and Oxford, enjoying the peace and quiet of country life

Hi Samzak
There are a couple of shakers on here from ChCh . They'll be along shortly . They can't help themselves .
Im in Auckland , also living in the country albeit still in the supercity .
Looking forward to some pics of your P6 . Hope its Almond , hope its Almond . Sorry , any colour is welcome on here . Hope its Almond .
I had a series 2 V8 Landrover tipper . Wonderful beast for the farm . I miss it sometimes when I need something that will climb a hill with a ton on the back .
Im guessing your car will be an ex Nelson assembled P6 .

Hmmmmm was out Swannanoa on Tuesday night and saw a brownish coloured (maybe tobacco leaf) P6 in my travels???

Was going to photograph it as I always do when I see a P6 but was with my new wife and didn't want her to think I am to obsessed with P6's

Opps 10.20 PM already off to bed

Hi Gerald your tipping series 2 sounds interesting, colour of mine is "Arctic White" I think. Hi also to Graeme you were fairly close to me in Swannanoa, but as you see mine is white. Going to have to stop tinkering and spending money and see if my P6 will pass a warrent (MOT). Hopefully this week! Ray.

Welcome to the forum :)

I was surprised how many P6s I saw in New Zealand when I was there earlier this year, including a lovely one on Waiheke Island :)
