Hi everyone
My name's Tim and have just become a roverholic.

Cashed in some pension money and bought a 75 2200 tc with 38000 miles on clock, love it
Been tinkering for about four weeks now including new engine mounts,k and n filters, fixed wiper delay with kitchen sponge, tightened up stainless exhaust too much and cracked weld on flange (didn't realise stainless was so brittle!)
Luckily got it welded at local garage that makes motorcycle exhausts. Tuned carbs after fixing leak on float pivot screw.
Just found petrol leak on reserve tap ordered o ring to fix.
Stank house out with petrol fumes gave wife headache.siphoned out 8 gallons of petrol. What else, New door rubber checked all brake calipers pads. Took out back seats, felt stuff .brand new underneath there not a mark on base unit. Oh polished it every time I walk near it.
Going to use her though they need to be used have even been out in rain!
Having great fun

Welcome aboard. Other things that can be randomly polished include the carb dashpot covers and wheel trims if you are in a polishing mood.....

welcome to rover world. often expensive. knuckle grazing and frustrating but when it all runs well and we have a clean purring machine we can relax and enjoy showing it off and driving it about. in its day a car ahead of its time. sadly for some reason unknown these are not as in demand as Ford offerings but I expect thats as they simply produced so much more and classic cars are all about memories and history. what we need is for a TV or film star to adopt a rover.. become fashionable maybe . do enjoy your purchase. won't say list of issue with mine as a toilet roll isn't long enough but when it runs.. bliss.

Your spot on there. I had Ford's because they were cheap and plentiful. Rovers were always a bit expensive and dear to fix. My friends dad had a p6 I used to get a lift to school with him and I loved it. It's all about memories.

Extract from ladybird book the husband . My name is Tim by the way
