I couldn't get on with it either. It was full of great promise but failed to deliver due to too many interruptions :( I've now gone back to the old Photobucket which isn't perfect, but more reliable

Re: New photobugket

Trouble is Lee , i've had an email from them and from the end of the month the old one will be turned off  :?

Re: New photobugket

I use photobucket for all of the photos that I post on forums, but I just didn't like the new version when I tried it. The main issue I have with the new version, is that, as far as I could see, it wasn't possible to copy multiple IMG links to post on a forum following a show, or a day out. I went back to using the old photobucket, but I, too, have had the notice about them closing the old version, and I can't say I'm that impressed with it.

Re: New photobugket

Yep, I switched back pretty quickly as it was awful to use and I told them so in their recent survey.

Re: New photobugket

I sent them my thoughts as they asked me to comment!
"If it aint broke dont fix it,as you will mess it up!"
Well seems they dont listen and they have!

Nothing new is easy to get used to,and you have to get in to adjust your settings for it to work better, but there are a few things that are slower.
Coying a link used to be 1 click,now its 3 or 4!

I think I,should I say we!! will have to spend some time over the weekend playing with it,before it goes live to at least get our head partially round its quirks!

Thanks for letting me know Stina  . Shame that Photobucket couldn't have sent me an email

So it looks like yet another case of: "You'll get what you're given and make do with it"...The only other way round the problem is to pay into a dedicated photo hosting website  I don't know what that would cost?

We may just have to "make do" with the new one :)

Re: New photobugket

No Free Lunch on the internet. It's all about advertizing, surveying your habits, etc. So unless you are willing to pay cash, you get what they give.

Re: New photobugket

I reverted ASAP and did the survey. Maybe they'll just let me and Lee keep the old system, hence no Email

Re: New photobugket

Well I thouhgt I will switch to the new for a while to try it out again, and cant now switch back,so am stuck with it!

Re: New photobugket

The new one is a right piece of crap, slows my machine to a snails pace and causes huge posting , uploading and downloading frustration.
Thankfully I reverted instantly to the old format, if I hadn't it would have been fist thru computer monitor time.

Re: New photobugket

I switched over to the new Photobucket today. Didn't have a choice as I needed to edit one of the photos that I had uploaded, and the editor had already moved to the new site. The new Photobucket is a Beta version currently, so there are bound to be teething problems. Must admit that I didn't have any problems with using it, but like most people, I don't see the necessity for change just for the sake of it.

Software though never remains static. It constantly evolves, almost like a living entity.

Re: New photobugket

I've been using the new photobucket for a while now. It takes a while to get used too and was undoubtedly slower when I first started using it, but then I've never been happy about the speed of old photobucket either. You get used to it after a while and it seems to be working better than previously. Chances are that it will fly on a brand new Windows 8 or Mac machine.

That comment gave me quite a stir Stina, so I have just checked mine and they are all still there.

Maybe it is something that you have done?

Ron.

Hi Stina,

I just had a look at your BW65 oil level thread, where you have pics of your transmission removal etc. Those pics are all still there, so were they on Photobucket? If so, then you haven't lost them, because once a photo has been deleted from the Photobucket site, it will equally disappear from wherever you may have posted it.

Ron.

If you delete ANY photo's from an album, even just 1!!!,,it will not display other pics that are used on forums in that album.
It seems ludicrous that you can add any amount and not affect used pics but cannot delete any without wiping out everything used!!

Hi Pilkie,

I have my photos in a library rather than in albums, so deleting one or more has no effect on photos that have been posted.

If that is the case, I wonder if that bug has been corrected with the latest version?

I've got a flickr account, and I've not had any problems with it. They alter the format from time to time but only to freshen things up a bit, and it doesn't have any effect on what you can do, and as I've shown with the pics from Hans, uploading to here is easy. If I can do it anyone can....
