New pony in the stable!!

Greetings all,

Just thought I should update you on the new pony in the stable.

With the arrival of our first child I thought it only proper that I spend the last of our spare cash on a project to maintain my sanity. So what better way than to import some classic American muscle in the shape of a '66 Ford Mustang. The vehicle is from Texas and is relatively rust free. It has the 4.7ltr 289 Winsor motor and a 3 speed "Cruise-o-matic" auto.

You will also see Winston on the left and our new "family" car on the right. I must say that the Rover 75 is a classy vehicle with all the fruit and a bag of crisps. You get so much car for so little money, and the wife loves it. Also with the new valauble baby cargo aboard it has enough safety features to keep her indoors feeling happy driving the wee chap about.

Don't worry, the old Rover is still my number one car and is in daily use. The 'Stang is my new weekend car and hobby project after having sold my 1962 'S' Series Chrysler Valiant to fund the import.

What do y'all think?? Yee Ha!!

Re: From the sublime to the ridiculous and back again!!

HHMMMM nice would quite fancy a Mustang myself think the wife would kill me though..lovely p6 too

Hi again all,

Thanks for the kind words.

I must say that my poor, suffering wife puts up a lot with my obsessive, collector's eccentricities.
Her patience is down to bare threads as far as the car front is concerned though.

At one stage I had the Valiant in the garage, the P6B in the carport, another donor P6B in front of that, our family Audi on the lawn and a deisel Mitsubishi work van in the driveway........

Anyway, God bless her!!!

Here's a couple more pics of the 'Stang. I know, I know this is a Rover forum. I promise this is the last you'll hear about this impudent American interloper!!!

:D :D :D :D :D

So it's a "Top oh!!" from the Rovers, a "Yipee Kay Yay" from the Mustang and a "Good evening" from me!!

That's a real Mustang , not the economy straight 6 .
I hope it's got disc brakes ?
I, for one, would be happy to hear more about it

Thanks again all,
Great words of encouragement.

Discs at the front Dave, and seeing as you asked so nicely here are a couple more pics.

Again I know that this is not Rover related, but it is great to compare legendary cars.
