New Rover

After scrapping the old Rover 3500s, i now have bought a new rover, a scarab blue 1975 3500 auto. Dave Herns will know what car this is :) .
Needs some welding, the new exhaust section fitted, bodywork, a good clean and a good service etc but it starts, drives and stops which is a lot more than the old one did. Reg no. is RGJ 621P if anyone knows anything about it?

Glad to hear of your new love but sad to hear of the demise of an 'S", maybe some photos would ease my pain :)

ah! good man lewis!
let me know when its sorted,
i'll give you a race with my blue one (s)
to see who's on the road first that is!

il get some pics tomorrow and ok Julian will do. Dave its the one from vale road, belonged to jeffs brother. i picked it up on monday and it drove onto the trailer after 10+ years in the garage which i was pleased about:)

Oh that Rover !
You should have called in while you were up here .I'd have liked to have seen that car.Last I heard it had what sounded like fuel starvation problems . Jeff has/had a Stag with head gasket problems and couldn't get the heads off .I did suggest he put the Rover's engine in his Stag.

For all of you in the vicinity of Chessington Jeff is a highly recommended mechanic, specialising in Vauxhalls but will do most cars , inc Fiats. Charges are most reasonable . Let me know if you want his number

I would have called in but was literally a get up there, get the car and get home again job. The car doesn't look to bad, the problem with the engine was that the coil packed up and nobody could find the problem. also the day we picked it up, got it home and the fuel pump was peeing fuel out so that had to be replaced with the pump off my old rovers engine. I think he might still have the stag somewhere, but not entirely sure, i know he has an MG midget. The Rover needs a good service which will be done soon but even with 10+ year old oil in it it didn't sound very tappity. It was misfiring and very loud cos of the exhaust but once its had a full service, fresh fuel running all through the system and the rotton exhaust section replaced i'm sure it will run fine. Il keep you updated about progress made. Thanks :)

hmm!
ok lewis !
i think you will beat mine to being on the road!
if this weather keeps up i think i'll drown doing the welding!
or electrocuted! whichever comes first!
if you need any bits give me a shout!
