New toy

Fantastic machine - I continue to espouse the restorative qualities of watching animations of Lysholm superchargers.

If you are fond of deploying that torque I hope you are friendly with the local tyre suppliers...

A proper beast and wolf in sheeps clothing.

I worked in sales for a Mercedes dealer 5 years ago and had the privilege of driving most of the then current range of AMGs and some older models and they are simply breathtaking. The highlight was an SL63 on a German Autobahn ( all expenses paid training course to Sindlefingen, Stuttgart :D ) and it try to spin the wheels at 100mph when kicking down! Coupled with an engine noise not unlike a Merlin engine they are special cars :D

Was this built during Mercedes rusting period ? There are some nice Mercs around with crusty wheelarches and apparently much worse rust where it can't be seen

A very impressive piece of machinery indeed! Definitely one of the last of Mercedes good-looking cars for a while, and with an amazing engine. I'm sure you'll have a great deal of fun with it!
