hi guys,

just like to introduce myself, i'm Tim from north wiltshire.

i've just returned from a family friends farm to collect my old grandads P6 V8 rover.

she is in need of some work! she's been in storage for 17 years since the old boy went on.

really want advice as to the best place to have her fully restored. time and cost isn't a issue really but the quality of workmanship is.

i'm more used to racing saloon cars than vintage motors, so all advice is great. i'll get some picks up asap.

cheers. tim.

Ive heard good things abou this company although I haven't actually used them. Seen a very nice 3500 in York which they rebuilt though.

Might be worth giving him a call and having a chat.

I have had work done on my cars, by MH Annable & Son and in my personal opinion, their work was absolutely superb.

Hi Tim.

A VERY warm welcome to the best forum for free advice and help bar none!
If you would like I can pop over and give your car a once over to see what state it is in,and to let you know what to expect that needs doing resto wise and if it,in my opinion, would be viable.
Anything is possible if money is no object, but if you go for a full resto, you will spend loads more than it will be worth.
If it is basically a solid car,but tired,I doubt you would get much change out of £10k from a major restorer, for a bodywork, mechanicals, trim overhaul.
If the sills, inner and outer are shot then they can be £1000 - £1500 per side to do properly!!
I am in Yate which is South Glos.
Just give me a call if you would like a totally unbias opinion on it.

Cheers Dave

Hi Tim
Welcme to the the best Rover forum on the net.
If you are serious about having your car restored as previously mentioned MH Annable really are the best I recently saw some of there work and it was brilliant.
As Dave,Pilkie, has offered to give you an unbiased opinion of your car it would be worth your while taking him up on the offer, I can assure you you will not regret it,there is not a lot Dave doesn't know about the P6 V8 and not only that he is a great bloke to meet and get to now. :D
Cheers
Moe
