Idly surfing the web the other day I came across a very tidy looking P6 3500S from Helsinki, Finland, sporting a tasty set of polished and painted five spoke alloys with locking centre caps concealing the wheel nuts:

Immediately fired an email off to the webmaster and soon got a reply from the proud owner. Here's what he wrote;
"The wheels are 7X15" Compomotive alloys. At front of the car, there wasnt any problems, but the rear ones where quite tricky.
Halfshafts had to be shortened (this also makes that the DeDion tube has to be shortened as well). Rear inner wings under the rear doors had to be cut and modified a little and rear bump stops had to be adjusted so the wheel travel isnt as "deep" as it originally is. Hope this information helps you".
For my money, that's the first set of contemporary wheels (OK, so they're a modern version of a design seen on Ferraris in the '70s) that really complement the P6 Series 2. A respray in Admiralty Blue (a p5B colour strangely never offered on the P6 but perfect for them, eh!?) and hey presto, a very tasty little motor.
I'm so envious I just had to share it with you all.
(Still would benefit from front 'Police' spoilers though, IMYH :cool:

Looks very smart - but some effort just to fit a set of rims - let's hope he doesn't change his mind too soon.. The offset must be well out to need that sort of faff just to fit 15" rims? My SD1 15" set went straight on - never relieved anything or needed to fit front spacers. Still... more common I suppose.

I like the Billet set John. A lot like the nice '63-on Buick Riviera steel rims? However... ahem.. when that set of Jensen alloy rims come my way, but not at a hefty eBay price, I'll...
