O/S front caliper intermittant after bleeding

Hi guys,

Have bled the whole system on my 72 V8 after rear over end haul, they worked fine!

Next I had to remove the servo for welding repairs & had to bleed the whole system again, all new braided flexi pipes & some copper pipes fitted aswell, but now when using the brakes for the first time after moving the O/S front aint working, the car shoots to the left, but then its not so bad but still not 100%, Hmm I thought, air lock, bled the two front brakes again, no obvious air being forced out, so is there a certain way to bleed these brake after removal & refitting the servo, maybe I should bleed the rear brakes again, possible travaling air bubble? / sticky pistons perhaps

Thanks & regards Damian

Hello Damian,

Best to start at the rear again, then work your way back to the o/s front. I have seen brakes bled at the booster following its installation, but better to go the long way and be sure.

As for pulling to one side,...a kink in one of the copper pipes perhaps?

Working fine and then braided flexible hoses and copper pipes fitted and now a problem,..so something here in this lot is not right.

Ron.

Hi Ron,

I have bled the whole system again last nite, starting with the rear then N/S front & then O/S front as per the workshop manual instructions, Brakes are better, firm pedal but it still seems abit like it cant makes its mind up, feels like there not 100% braking from the O/S caliper. No leaks or kinks in the pipes. Is it that they need bleeding all at the same time due to the valve block that divides the pressure...if thats correct? Pretty sure its not sticky pistons a they were fine before I removed the servo, gotta be something simple!

Cheers damian
