I've got no clue if this is the real deal? I'm guessing they are quite rare as I've never seen one listed before.

Looks like the real thing, except it should be chrome. Not cheap though. Last one I saw was in very good nick for about 95 quid on ebay UK.

Similar, but not the real thing. The side rails on the factory one are high at one end and low at the other. It was never clear to me which was meant to be the front!

They are correct Chris,just opposite ways round so it looks odd! :wink:

It's original & very expensive indeed, especially as it's black & not chrome as it should be.

Rover literature showed it fitted to a car with the high end at the rear, which just looks so wrong when people fit them that way as this one has been. Fitted the other way the curve of the rack follows the line of the roof & I can't imagine why anyone would do any different.

As the owner of an original roofrack,I normally have the narrow bit to the back!
If I am just using it quick for a couple of hours I just bung it on anyway!
The owner of car and rack pictured had obviously not made his mind up,and was looking at it from either side to decide what was best!
Getting these rechromed is not cheap,and its far better looking all black than rusty,flaky,sharp edged chrome! IMHO!
