Other Classics in the family

Ok another little up date on the moggie engine and box out, engine is being fully reconditioned as it was a bit smokey and a few upgrades also to be added.....

And while the engines out the bay will be all redone too....

Engine out and on the floor ready for stripping...

Any chance of putting something a bit meaty back under the bonnet ?

Would love too, but not on this occasion, cost of insurance means its a 1275  as it looks like the standard 909 with a few goodies added....

That looks great. Simple lines, fab colour scheme & the window tint's blend in beautifully with the top colour. It looks like it's wearing a hat.
I fitted MG Midget front disc's to my A30 before selling it (too cheaply  ). I think it's a similar set-up on the Moggies/Baby Austins, isn't it? An easy & fairly cheap conversion if you haven't already done it.

Yeah, it's pretty straight-forward. Midget discs are a touch on the small side to offer any benefit over the Minor's standard drums. Some people put mini servos on with them, but I reckon that would just burn the pads out!
Marina discs are the most straightforward to fit (as most of the suspension is Minor bits anyway), and Vauxhall Viva also fit with some faffing. There are some Ford ones too, but the PCD is 4x4" on the Minor (most other things of the period were 100mm), so wheel/hub/disc choice is a bit limited unless you drill them all out.
By far the most straightforward conversion is the 8" self-adjusting front drums from the RIley 1.5/Wolseley 1500 (which was basically a Minor with a B-series), as this is a straight swap and eliminates the need to buy/fabricate/bodge a caliper mounting bracket, but I can understand people preferring a disc setup.

It has morris marina front discs and rear drums and servo assisted... At mo stops better than it runs

OK some may have noticed I've not been on for a while so it's time to do a few up dates here's a few pics of my boys Moggy completed

This was taken at Southend its first main run out after completion...

This was taken on drive it day when he came along to join us at the Dehaviland Museum with the P6's

and a pic of the front from drive it day

You may notice he has changed the look from the Southend picture to the drive it day pics.....Smoothed of the bonnet completely and removed the nose badge and also changed the grill for mesh...The paint work is still on a gun finish so yet to flat and polish, just as well as it has been hit 3 times while parked and he has also crashed it once  boys will be boys

He has planes to change the wheels at some stage.......

Looks really good Guy, let him know he has my approval. Like the colour as well even though it the wrong side of the city for me. Suits it. Wonder where he gets his driving skills from ?
