If the bolt is tight you can hit the bar as hard as you like, if you don't lock the engine it won't come undone. Using the starter to shock it undone the bar gets nowhere near any painted surfaces, it hits the undersealed surface at the top of the crossmember. (Chances are while you're trying to belt the bar with a hammer you'll miss and smash the paintwork anyway)JC. said:I just put a breaker bar on and belt it with a hammer... i like my paintwork too much to start twatting it with a starter motor.
