I was thinking of taking a run down, maybe car share with another P6 as my car will not be on the road by the time of the rally. Any central Scotland members fancy it?
Depending on work commitments, I may well take my car down to this! It's also possible that I'll be roadtripping at that time in the Yorkshire Dales with some friends, so I may well appear in a fly spattered, grubby P6 complete with a CB on the roof and a boot full of lugguage. 8)
Guys looks like I have got a buddy to car share with so I will be at the Rally.
Are there many other forum members going?
I am coming down with George Beattie, quite appropriat as his car is the same colour and is only a digit out on the registration number. We will either camp or a travel bin but still to confirm.
The P6 Rover Owners Club National Classic Car Show is to be held on Sunday 21st August at the Elsecar Heritage Centre, Barnsley, South Yorkshire S74 8HJ, only a few minutes from Junction 36 of the M1 motorway.
The Elsecar Heritage Centre is located within the former ironworks and colliery workshops of the Earl of Fitzwilliam. The restored historical buildings now house many attractions including an antique and collectables centre over two floors, crafts and arts, furniture and interiors, antique clocks, children’s play centre, toy shops, tea rooms and an old fashioned sweet shop, to name a few.
The restored Newcomen Beam Engine & Steam Railway will be running and is an enjoyable day out with something for everyone.
The P6 Rover Owners Club has decided to hold the National Show at Elsecar again this year to give everyone the chance to enjoy a fantastic classic vehicle show at a popular venue in the heart of England.
Bookings have already doubled on last year’s turnout and are almost exceeding the 100 target. One P6ROC member is travelling in their Rover P6 from Switzerland to be at the show and will no doubt win the ‘Furthest Travelled’ award.
There will be many trophy awards, spare parts, regalia, a prize raffle and tombola. The Entry Fee is only £5.00 per vehicle and is open to all classic and modern vehicles, no fee for visitors. Entries on the day are welcome or visit the Club website http://www.p6roc.com for entry form and further information or contact Deborah Squires on 01484 413608 / email: editor@p6roc.com
