P6 wanted (again)

Hi, I am on the hunt for a P6. I would prefer a V8 and something tax exempt with leather interior but I will consider any other version. As long as its got an MOT and is a runner. Don't mind if it needs a bit of welding or bodywork here or there but I'm fed up with driving miles to find another bodged and filled heap. Will pay up to £1,500 cash for the right car.
Also, if anyone could recommend a good place to see adverts for one (apart from e-bay - I know they're on there all the time!) I would be grateful. You can ring me on 01264 335080 or mail me at mgnige@yahoo.co.uk. I'm in Hampshire. Thanks

By the way. I was a member back in 1996/97 and owned a 1974 Mexico Brown 3500S registration TBL 583M. Is she known to anyone these days?

Me too! I am so fed up in fact that I am in the process of creating a website dedicated to rover P6 resources on the web. It will also have a for sale section that will be free for advertisers (even trade), I hope this is not construed as an advert as I will not be making any money on this venture (In fact I will actually loose money on it!) If you want a sneak preview visit P-SIX you must remember that this is a work in progress, I will let everyone know when it is finished (which may not be for some time as it is a personal project and paying customers come first!)
Cheers

Like the website...excellent idea. This type of "webring" is desperately needed for the P6. I own an MGB and www.mgcars.org has all the information, links and adverts one could ever need on the marque.
I assume those nice cars for sale on your site are meant as examples and aren't really for sale ?!! Only that the black S1 looks like it has a FOR SALE sign in the side window?!
Keep up the good work.

Ahem, well yess they are just examples, but examples I have seen recently so may very well still be for sale, the black one is advertised on the owners club site on the adverts page and is in Tenby (the pics make it look better than it is), the tobacco leaf one is in Brynna just outside Bridgend (Both South Wales) and was spotted in the local free-ads, but it is a corker. I am not a fan of tobacco leaf as a colour but this one has a huntsman roof and the brown sill covers, a boot mounted spare, comes with numerous spares including spare 10.5:1cr motor and box, it is one of the few that I have seen that will not rip your hands to pieces when you run them along the bottom of the doors (smooth as the proverbial) the rust around the door stays is all that I could find on the whole car - although I did view at night so a lot of rust detection was done by touch - the exterior is nice obviously there are some slight dings and scrapes, but this is a completely original car and it looks really good I would snap it up if her indoors hadn't banned brown cars!
If you want to see if its still for sale drop me a line off list and I will send you the guys details.
Cheers

How about this one

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws....40&rd=1

I purchased my 1972 V8s from eBay in May (unseen). My other half was not impressed and to be fair I wish I had gone to look at it first. But at least the one in the link above is being sold by an enthusiast and club member so there is some honesty/integrity in the write up (I believe there is any way). Had I the opportunity to turn back the clock I know which car I would be going for.

hi jules,
thanks for that, it is a good honest description of the car, i did forget to put that the leather interior could do with a bit of TLC, but it is an honest description and this time of year is ideal to buy and restore/sort it out over the coming winter. also who ever buys it can cut a boot floor out of a scrap car i have which is perfect. i am surprised no one has bidded on it yet as it has got to be a very rare example with the air-conditioning in it.

I didn't spot that and was wondering why his web site was just a bunch of adverts including one for lonely married women
