Back in the '80s I fitted a KMac rear anti role bar to my P6B. Essentially it was/is a bar running between two plates bolted to the lower control arms. Didn't do anything for the role but made the car very twitchy on rough road. I worked out that because the lower arms essentially meet in the middle of the car they parrallel the road surface ll the time. The body rolls independantly of the lower contol arms. Body roll is controlled by the springs alone. The anti roll bar mounted on the diff end plate is for that unit only, converting any twisting motion into up/down motion to keep the wheels centred on the body ie. reduce rear steer effect. I finally figured out I can mount a bar across the body on the control arm cross member and attach the lever ends to the plates from the other bar, that is to an extension of the lower control arm down near the spring mount.
Effect is to increase the roll resistance of the body without increasing the main spring pressure. Bumps and potholes would increase the load bearing by roughly half of the anti roll effect, so not much as the old bar which just transferred the shock to the other wheel.
Any thoughts on whether it is worthwhile persuing this would be welcome!
